Welcome to my 'Journey of Faith' website!

I'm so glad you stopped by, and hope you will come back and visit often, and explore with me this awesome, extraordinary journey of life in the 'faith lane'.  It is my most humble prayer that you will find encouragement among these pages in your quest to walk this journey in faith, hope, and love.
"I do believe!  Help me overcome my unbelief!"

This father's anguished plea in Mark 9:24 has been the cry of my heart more times than I can count.

Even in the normal course of human life, we face times of doubt in God's infinite love for us, and in His desire and/or ability to take care of us, heal our wounded souls, and the wounds of those we love and care for.

If we didn't have some measure of faith, we wouldn't even approach God with our requests for mercy and grace.

And yet, we become acutely aware, especially during fearful and traumatic events, that our faith is not absolute.

How can anything that springs from humanity be without failings?  We are merely human.  And how can anything God does be dependant upon anything that comes from human beings?

We may wonder at times if God will withhold His grace and mercy if our faith isn't 'sufficient' to 'merit' a cure, a blessing, a ________(fill in the blank).

However, if God's grace and mercy, or any of His attributes, were dependant upon anything of a human nature, He wouldn't be God.

Though we may not understand the outcome of any of life's situations, especially when we have labored in prayer and begged and pleaded for Him to perform a miracle,  we can have absolute faith in one thing only; regardless of how things may appear to us, He is a God of absolute Love.

It is this faith in His infinite love that gives us courage to face another day during those times when it seems the sky is falling and the earth is crumbling beneath our feet.  It is this faith that causes us to cry out with our brother Job (pronounced 'Jobe') in the Bible; 'Though He slay me, yet will I trust in Him'.

We tenaciously cling to the truth of His love regardless of what comes.  Our faith is based on what is unseen, else it wouldn't be faith.

It's easy to believe in God's love when the sun is shining, and the air is filled with joy and laughter.  We 'see' His love more clearly, so we 'believe' more strongly.  This is not faith.

These feelings are based in happiness, which is a far cry from joy.

The word 'happiness' describes how we feel when everything is great, and it depends entirley on what
'happens'.
The word 'Joy' on the other hand, is not a 'feeling' at all.  It is a state of being which cannot be touched by what 'happens'.

What you can expect to find here;

I am a very unconventional Christian, in that I have never been able to find a Christian label that describes my experience, nor have I been able to find any Christian mold that I fit into comfortably.

I believed, at different times in my life, that I had found 'it'....the place where I 'belonged'.  But the more I resided there, the more uncomfortable I became.
